Market Union | Wanli University Party Secretary Wang Weizhong Visits

On June 20, Wang Weizhong, Party Secretary and Vice President of Zhejiang Wanli University, led a delegation to visit Market Union. Vice Presidents Jeff Luo and Sam Zhu received the delegation.

Secretary Wang and delegation first toured the showroom, followed by a symposium.

Jeff Luo introduced the Group’s business model, focusing on traditional foreign trade and cross-border e-commerce, aiming to become China’s first global all-category supply chain management company and to provide global customers with Chinese products and services of extreme cost performance. Amid the contraction of the U.S. market and shocks to the European market, emerging markets are rising rapidly, leading to a growing demand for multilingual talent within the company.

In recent years, Market Union has placed greater emphasis on candidates’ practical language skills. High-caliber multilingual talents naturally possess strong advantages in the foreign trade sector. Zhejiang Wanli University’s tailored “order-based” talent training model has effectively addressed both long-term business demands and short-term Canton Fair needs, solving pain points such as hiring difficulties and long training cycles. We plans to accelerate the launch of scholarships and industry-academia collaboration projects at Zhejiang Wanli University to deepen partnership efforts.

Secretary Wang emphasized that as a local application-oriented university, Zhejiang Wanli University has always adhered to an entrepreneurial and international approach to education. The university’s entrepreneurial DNA strongly resonates with Market Union’s entrepreneurship. In April, Wanli established a Spanish-speaking Countries Language and Culture Research Center aimed at cultivating top-tier Spanish language professionals and serving as a platform to drive deeper integration between industry and education. He noted that university-enterprise collaboration should start from specific touchpoints—by inviting industry experts to serve as joint mentors, initiating targeted pilot projects, and expanding collaboration to achieve coordinated progress in industry, academia, and research.

Zhejiang Wanli University is a provincial undergraduate university with a history of 73 years. It was formerly Ningbo Agricultural College, the Ningbo Branch of Zhejiang Agricultural University, and then Zhejiang Rural Technical Teachers College. In 1999, the college was approved by the Ministry of Education to become a new type of university—“a public university that implements new management models and operating mechanisms”, which is highly acclaimed by education experts as “an exemplary practice of modern university system with Chinese characteristics”.
